With the announced $28 billion regional transit plan, the provincial government is seeking to capture a significant amount of the land value created by its massive infrastructure investments. It’s a new approach to funding public infrastructure and delivering transit oriented development - promising to play a significant role in project planning and implementation timelines with nearly two-thirds of the plan’s funding to be sourced by other levels of government and benefiting land owners. What does success look like across the region and what are the implications for public agencies and regional municipalities?

Cities across North America and Canada, including the City of Toronto, are facing an unprecedented housing affordability crisis. This acute challenge extends from middle-income/workforce residents to at-risk populations. Our program will explore how temporary and permanent modular and factory constructed housing can significantly contribute to the affordability solution – including an in-depth look at the implementation and lessons learned by Luke Harrison, Former Director and CEO, Vancouver Affordable Housing Agency and Bart Tocci, the builder behind Boston's largest modular housing project.

What are the opportunities for Toronto to add new housing supply, quickly and cost effectively, by working collaboratively with public and private affordable and modular housing providers?
