ULI Toronto: Modular Housing - Faster, Cheaper, Greener

Cities across North America and Canada, including the City of Toronto, are facing an unprecedented housing affordability crisis. This acute challenge extends from middle-income/workforce residents to at-risk populations. Our program will explore how temporary and permanent modular and factory constructed housing can significantly contribute to the affordability solution – including an in-depth look at the implementation and lessons learned by Luke Harrison, Former Director and CEO, Vancouver Affordable Housing Agency and Bart Tocci, the builder behind Boston's largest modular housing project.

What are the opportunities for Toronto to add new housing supply, quickly and cost effectively, by working collaboratively with public and private affordable and modular housing providers? How can modular construction combined with the opportunity of public land unlock permanent and short-term housing options?
